Welcome to my Newsletter and the very best wishes for 2010.

The year ahead will be a challenge for all of us with the state of the economy continuing to impact on our families, our jobs and our society. We all know that job creation is the most important task facing our country. There must be a strategic plan for getting our educated, highly skilled workforce back into employment.

On a local level I am working closely with Councillor Ray McAdam and Councillor Mary O'Shea to provide accurate information on water supply in Dublin Central. We are also raising specific issues on water supply and pressure with local council staff. Please access www.paschaldonohoe.ie for the most up to date information from Dublin City Council.

Fine Gael’s National Recovery Plan
Fine Gael’s detailed budget proposals spell out how we would manage our national finances and create an environment for making and keeping jobs. Please read Fine Gael’s proposals on a fair way to fix the economy and the Public Finances. The Fine Gael NewERA plan would create 100,000 jobs by investing in the technologies of tomorrow.
Local Work

I work closely with Councillors Mary O Shea and Ray McAdam on all local matters. Updates for our work across the constituency are available at www.paschaldonohoe.ie.

My main priorities have included.

  • Local Infrastructure: the local Fine Gael team made a detailed submission on Metro North that is available here. I have also worked with the resident associations on the proposed Dublin Underground Dart, see detail here.
       
  • The City Development Plan: we are organising a series of consultation evenings with the local community on the City Council plan for Dublin. Weather permitting, we will be holding our first meeting in St.Peter’s Hall, Phibsborough, followed by a second meeting in the Half Way House, Ashtown. Time and location will be advertised locally.
       
  • Other issues include the quality of local policing, plans for O’Reilly’s Bridge in Cabra, the future of the City Council swimming pool on Sean McDermott Street and the proposed mobile phone mast in the Glasnevin Industrial Estate. Detailed information on all of this work is available here.

My Constituency Office is located across from Phibsborough Shopping Centre and is open from 9.30am to 12.30pm Monday to Friday.  My website is updated every day with my local and Oireachtas work.
