Fitzgibbon Street Policing Meeting

22nd January, 2009

Last night I attended a community policing meeting in Fitzgibbon street.

These meetings are a legacy of the late Tony Gregory. In these meetings residents raise local issues that are important to them. Garda, Dublin City Council and local politicians attend these meetings. They are chaired by an independent Chairperson. They provide an excellent forum for the raising
and resolution of problems.

Dumping, yellow lines and match day parking were amongst the priorities that were discussed last night. I attend 2 other meetings like these, the Cabra Policing Forum and the North Inner City Policing Forum. If there are ever issues that you would like me to raise at these meetings please let me know.
