Cut Backs to St Mary’s Hospital, Dublin 7

St-Marys-Hospital

The Evening Herald feature my raising with the cut backs to St Mary’s Hospital. If you combine this with the cut backs to the Sancta Maria Day Care Centre it shows a sustained loss of common sense and morality. Crazy stuff.

NAVAN ROAD COMMUNITY UPDATE

ARD CUAN RESPITE HOUSE – FIGHTING THE CLOSURE

The Ard Cuan respite centre on the Old Cabra Road provides care for 84 families, among them young children and elderly parents in need of regular professional care. The centre has provided people with Down Syndrome and intellectual disabilities with a break away from home for more than 15 years as well as other essential care facilities. There was between 200 and 250 people at the meeting. In my many years of attending such meetings it was the most upsetting meeting I’ve ever attended.

LOCAL PLANNING UPDATE ON DOMINICAN CONVENT LAND

Summary

As part of the City Plan Development Process the City Manager has recommended a change in the zoning status of land within the Dominican Convent. While the City Manager can recommend zoning changes, this is a decision made by elected Councillors.

Your local Fine Gael councillors will not support changing this land to a residential zoning. This is because of the unsuitable location of this land for further residential development and because there is now a sufficient quantity of zoned residential land to cater for current and future housing needs.
