‘The next train to Dunboyne will not be calling at Hansfield’

A large area of west Dublin is being denied access to the Dunboyne rail line because Noel Dempsey has failed to ensure access to the station, according to Fine Gael Dublin Transport Spokesman Senator Paschal Donohoe.

Senator Donohoe welcomed the long-awaited opening of the Dunboyne rail line, but said it was deeply ironic that Minister Dempsey’s maiden voyage on the service would pass the closed station at Hansfield.

Yesterday I dealt with a case of a constituent who in trying to deal with a pension matter was passed to 3 different departments of Social Protection, from Dublin to Sligo to Donegal. Is it any one that people feel the need for politicians to follow up on specific matters for them? How can a system like that make sense?

Sitting in the office in Phibsborough. Heard something shouting ‘You can’t trust them, you just can’t trust them’. Suspected that shouter of same would be walking in the front door of my office to lecture me on my lack of probity and other failings. How right I was.
